The USA Network presently airs live coverage of WWE SmackDown on Tuesday nights. The programme was formerly broadcast on Thursday nights, but on September 9, 2005, it was switched to Fridays before being brought back to Thursdays on January 15, 2015. It was changed to a live broadcast on Tuesday night on July 19, 2016. On April 29, 1999, SmackDown! made its American television premiere on the UPN network.
