A century's journey of UET and Engineering is the guarantor of Pakistan's bright future, Governor Punjab
113 teachers of the university have received scholarships worth 650 million rupees since 2019, Vice Chancellor
Lahore (University of Engineering
and Technology Lahore) 29th convocation was held, in which credentials were
distributed among 2 thousand 621 students including main and sub-campuses. The assembly awarded 21 Ph.D., 758 MS, MPhil, and 1,842 BSc degrees.
Meanwhile, 64 gold medals were distributed among 38 students for their
outstanding performance. The convocation was presided over by Chancellor UET
and Governor Punjab Engineer Muhammad Balighur Rahman. During the ceremony,
Interloop CEO Mossadeq Zulqarnain was also awarded an honorary degree.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar delivered the welcome address. Speaking on this occasion, Governor Punjab and Chancellor University Engineer Balighur Rehman congratulated the successful students and said that the journey of UET and engineering spans a century. Today, Watan Aziz is developing rapidly thanks to the engineers of the university. Engineer Balighur Rehman further said that the university is playing a great role in shaping the future of students in the present era.
Faculty development projects,
workshops, women empowerment initiatives in STEM, patents, the establishment of UET
Academy, new degree programs, 19 functional research centers, volunteer work of
student societies, plantation drives, seminars, and international conferences
for students. It reflects the unwavering commitment of UET to prepare for a
better tomorrow. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mansoor Sarwar highlighted the
university's achievements.
In 173 projects from 35
universities, UET students took first place in four out of the five engineering
fields this year, according to Dr. Mansoor Sarwar, who also claims that faculty
members and students at the university are doing outstanding work in extracurricular
and curricular activities. 58 university professors won funding for research
totaling 224 million, while 113 professors have received grants totaling 650
million since 2019.
The Vice-Chancellor further said that UET has improved by 18 ranks for 2023 in the global ranking of the university and the university has reached the 165th position out of 183 in the global ranking. He highlighted the role and services of the former engineers of the university. He advised the graduating students to continue the mission of their predecessors.

He advised the graduates to choose a career of their choice
and work hard for the betterment of Pakistan and fellow human beings. In the
end, he acknowledged the services of the best teachers for all the departments.
The students looked excited on the occasion of the convocation. The students
