The new Honor X40 GT is designed to deliver premium
performance at an affordable price. It has the Qualcomm flagship chipset from a
year ago, which is still superior to the majority of mid-range CPUs made today.
Even more cooling features are included to support extended gaming sessions.
Display Configuration
Although the Honor X40 GT may not be a fully functional gaming phone, it surely has that appearance. The main camera is coloured with the same accent green as the striped motif that lines the rear panel. It includes a big 6.81-inch IPS LCD with 1080p resolution on the front, which combines a 480Hz touch sampling rate with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate to provide a short input lag.
An 8-layer graphite cooling pad is included with the device
to control thermals during extended gaming sessions.
Storage and Processor
The primary chipset used in this is the Snapdragon 888 from a year ago, which is still incredibly powerful despite not being able to compete with the current Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Only one 256 GB storage option is available, and 8 to 12 GB of RAM are also available. For storage extension, there is no memory card slot.
On top of Android 12 you get Honor's Magic UI 6.1 for the
operating system.
Camera Department
The Honor X40 GT boasts a simple camera configuration, just like the majority of gaming smartphones. It has a 50MP main sensor and two 2MP cameras for depth perception and macro photography. You can record 1080p footage at 60 FPS or up to 4K videos at 30 FPS.
The 16 MP (f/2.5) wide-angle selfie camera can only shoot
videos in 1080p resolution.
Battery and Fast Charging
4,800 mAh is a bit low for a game phone, but at least it can
be swiftly refilled with 66W cable charging. If you want to power other
gadgets, reverse wireless charging is also supported.
Honor X40 GT Price
One of the
most affordable gaming-capable smartphones to date, the Honor X40 GT has a
starting price of under $290 in China. Racing Black, Black, and Silver colour
options will be offered.
