Undergraduate Scholarship Programme for Students of Gilgit-Baltistan to Study in Top Pakistani Universities/Institutions
Outstanding Gilgit-Baltistan students are encouraged to apply for undergraduate study (four- or five-year BS programmes) at HEC-recognized public sector universities or degree-granting institutes (DAIs). For the academic year 2022–2023, scholarships are being made available through the "Undergraduate Scholarship Programme for the Students of Gilgit-Baltistan at Top Pakistani Universities/Institutions (Batch-II)" in all fields of study and disciplines.
Eligibility requirements
- Gilgit-Baltistan domicile or local certificate is mandatory for applicants
- The High School Certificate (SSC), Higher Secondary Education Certificate (HSSC), or equivalent, needs to have been earned by aspirants. Priority will be provided to students of Gilgit-Baltistan who have successfully finished or cleared their SSC, HSSC, or equivalent
- Candidates shall meet HEC and university criteria for admission to BS programmes; applicants who are currently getting any other scholarship are NOT ineligible to apply
- The limit age restriction is 22 years as of the application deadline date; and
- For admission, candidates have to meet requirements of universities and HEC
Scholarship
will cover
- Tuition fee, hostel fee and other charges-maximum Rs. 240,000 per year
- Stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month
- Books and traveling allowances of Rs. 30,000 per annum
Important
Note
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their scores in Aptitude Test to be conducted by Education Testing Council, HEC) and academic credentials.
- Candidates must secure at least 50, marks in the ETC test
- Students already enrolled in any BS programme in public sector universities/institutions prior to the advertisement (maximum one academic year/ session) may also apply
- The award of scholarships will be purely merit-based and irrespective of gender, caste, race, and religion
- The applicants can apply to any public sector university/institution of Pakistan. However, any expenditure over and above the cost given in the project PC-1 will be borne by the student himself/herself
- Test Result will be valid for one year after the announcement of Test Result date
- HEC reserves the right to postpone or cancel the scholarship process at any stage without assigning any reason

- Applicants must deposit Rs. 500 (non-refundable) as application fee in any FIBL branch in Account No.1742 7900 133401, Account Title: Higher Education Commission, Bank: Habib Bank Limited, Branch Code: 1742, SRC 0-9 Islamabad branch, and submit the scanned copy/image of bank receipt online while applying
The application submission deadline is October 24, 2022.
It is inspired that candidates submit their applications well beforehand of the point in time. Moreover, to stop any disturbance, check your emails and therefore the HEC website sometimes.
On the day of the take a look, you may bring your original CNIC or passport further because the original candidate copy of the paid fee challan; something apart from that, you may not be allowed to participate in the examination.
